Delicious Hot Cocoa Ideas To Get You Through This Weekend’s Chilly Weather

Delicious Hot Cocoa Ideas To Get You Through This Weekend’s Chilly Weather

If you’re a native Floridian, like myself, you know as well as I do that sometimes it can be a tad hard to embrace the Christmas spirit with temperatures in the 80’s mere weeks before the big holiday. But this coming weekend and for most of next week, we will have a bit of a cold snap with the temps dipping down into the high 30’s and 40’s! Burrrrrrr!

And what’s a better way to get through a chilly cold snap than by enjoying some delicious HOT CHOCOLATE!! So, we wanted to share two of our super cute ooey gooey hot cocoa favorites – Marshmallow Polar Bear Hot Chocolate & Marshmallow Snowman Hot Chocolate!

Marshmallow Polar Bear Hot Chocolate

Marshmallow Polar Bear Hot Chocolate is super fun to make and drink! You can even include the kids after a long day at school or while decorating your house for the holidays! Perfect for parties and afterschool events.

Marshmallow Polar Bear Ingredients:

To make your marshmallow polar bears, here’s what you’ll need (amounts are for each bear):

  • 1 jumbo marshmallow
  • 1 standard-sized marshmallow
  • 2 mini marshmallows
  • 2 candy eyeballs
  • 1 chocolate candy (M&M’s / Reese’s Pieces)
  • Melted white chocolate/almond bark
  • Hot chocolate mix of your choice
  • Milk or water for hot chocolate mix

Directions:

For each bear, begin with a jumbo marshmallow for the base. Cut about 1/3 off a standard marshmallow to use for the polar bear’s muzzle. Melt a small amount of white chocolate (or almond bark/white candy coating) and put a tiny tab on the cut side of that 1/3 marshmallow piece, then attach it to the jumbo marshmallow.

Dab a small bit of melted white chocolate on the chocolate candy (where the logo is) and place it on the top side of the muzzle. Then, put a small dab of the melted white chocolate on the back of each of the candy eyeballs and put them on the jumbo marshmallow face, right above the muzzle. Lastly, put a small dab of the melted chocolate on each of the mini marshmallows and attach to the top sides of the jumbo marshmallow for ears.

Don’t forget to make your hot cocoa – adding milk or water as you prefer! Put the marshmallow right into the hot cocoa, or add a big dollop of whipped cream on the top and then plop the polar bear head right on in!
