Pretzel Crust Pizza? Nom Nom or Heck Nah?

Pretzel Crust Pizza PicI did it. I’m not proud of it, but here I am bewildered and ready to share.

It was late at night, nothing but poorly made informercials on T.V. and then there it was. A big, steaming hunk of… pretzel crust pizza from Hungry Howies. I felt my low-carb diet angel on my shoulder shriek as I picked up the phone and ordered the house a large pepperoni pizza with extra cheese and, of course, I made it a pretzel crust.

I’m a food blogger, I said. I HAVE to try this weirdo pizza, I said. It’s the right thing to do, I said. FOR THE FANS, I said.

So I ate it. I ate two slices to be exact and now here I am… My diet temporarily died that night and now I’m writing to you.

Pretzel Crust Pizza… The Review

So, enough of the horsing around; you just want to know if you should throw all nutritious sanity aside and cave for this pizza like I did. My verdict is a solid: eh.

I will admit that my eyes lit up for the idea of a pretzel crust pizza. From pretzel wraps to pretzel burger buns — so far, I’ve loved them all and long for my carb-y cheat days when I can sink my teeth into a little pretzel delight. But, in reality, this crust was just dry and rock-solid when I tried it. And when I say solid, I don’t mean crunchy goodness. It was just, well, rough.

In the end, I’m hoping that it was just because I grabbed one of the first ones in my moment of weakness and that in reality, this is a great idea. As for now, the taste buds have spoken. If I were you, I wouldn’t waste the carbs on this hyped-up pretzel crust pizza.
